Becky Lynch Calls 2023 Match A ‘Favorite’ Of Her WWE Career WWE

Becky Lynch has opened up on a rivalry that dominated much of her 2023, calling the concluding match of the program one of the favorites of her entire career.

From WrestleMania 39 in April until Payback in September, The Man was involved in an on screen angle with one of the all-time best female WWE stars Trish Stratus.

From teaming together, to competing in several one-on-one matches, the feud would ultimately conclude in a steel cage match at Payback, the first of its kind for Stratus in her illustrious career.

The bout and feud in general is widely considered to be one of the company’s best of 2023 among fans, an opinion shared by Lynch; who recently reflected on the bout and working with the Hall of Famer throughout the year in an appearance on the Casual Podcast with Brad Tate.

Lynch said:

“I think it’s always going to be a little bit mind-blowing, growing up as a fan of somebody, that you get to work alongside them. It was incredible.

We’ve said for many years that she’s one of the greatest of all time and she proved it through sheer work ethic and fearlessness.

I am so proud of that cage match we had at Payback. I think it’s one of my favorite matches that I’ve ever had, and what an honor to be able to do that with Trish Stratus.”

While we haven’t seen Stratus since Payback, she is still listed as a Raw superstar on WWE’s roster page and has recently teased another run in 2024.

As for Lynch, her 2024 got off to a pretty rough start as she lost to Nia Jax in a grudge match five years in the making at the Day 1 edition of Raw (January 1).
