The statement on WWE.com is as follows:
“STAMFORD, Conn. — After a three-year suspension, Hulk Hogan has been reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame. This second chance follows Hogan’s numerous public apologies and volunteering to work with young people, where he is helping them learn from his mistake. These efforts led to a recent induction into the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Alumni Hall of Fame.”
In the statement, WWE acknowledged some of the many controversies the ‘Hulkster’ has been involved in after being recorded making some very offensive comments based on race and gender, among numerous other disputes.
The six-time WWF World Heavyweight Champion was first inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 but was removed in 2015 and WWE have barely, if at all, mentioned him since.
There are reports that he has been in the area of tonight’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view over the last couple of days. That is likely just to make final arrangements regarding this announcement, but maybe it could lead to an on-screen return some point soon, now he and WWE are seemingly on good terms.
