Brock Lesnar’s Next WWE Universal Title Defense in Doubt?

Brock Lesnar’s Next WWE Universal Title Defense in Doubt?

In the latest bid to get fans interested in the WWE Universal Title picture, WWE.com is reporting that there have been some issues in negotiating Brock Lesnar’s next contract. In what is surely a kayfabe report, the WWE claims that Lesnar and his advocate, Paul Heyman, have a severe lack of trust in WWE management finding the ‘Beast’ a suitable opponent. This lack of competent competition has ground negotiations to a halt between the two parties, supposedly.

Heyman has taken to social media in order to vent his frustration with the situation. Proving once again that he could sell a slap fight between Dustin Diamond and Alfonso Ribeiro, Heyman has turned up the heat with his caustic words.

Kurt Angle and WWE social media asked the WWE Universe, via Twitter, who’d they’d like to see face off against Lashley and Reigns in the multi-man, number one contender match at Extreme Rules. Both of their tweets were met with a level of vitriol only the former head of ECW can muster.

Paul took offense at the question as pandering for views and clicks/likes, because WWE has failed to present a worthy challenger, thus far, for his client. Lashley and Roman both took exception to this and responded via Twitter. Bobby made some good points and that may be a match many fans would love to see. Roman, of course, said it was “his yard” despite failing to defeat Lesnar at every opportunity.

WWE also took shots at Brock, in a sense, posting the following sly dig on their social media account:

Tune in tonight on Raw to see how the superstars respond to Heyman’s jeers.

What do you think of the future of the WWE Universal Title? Is Heyman’s disdain justified, given the Beast’s level of sheer dominance?
