Sammy Guevara and Scorpio Sky have been involved in somewhat of a hot potatoing of the TNT Championship in AEW over the past few months, with both sides turning heel and face in that time.
This came to a head at Double or Nothing, when Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page and Paige VanZant of American Top Team defeated Sammy Guevara, Frankie Kazarian and Tay Conti in a six-person mixed tag team match.
The match came with the stipulation that both Sammy and Frankie could ‘never challenge for the TNT Championship’ again, which confused many fans watching.
However, Dave Meltzer has provided clarification during this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, noting that the stipulation is only in place while Sky holds the TNT Championship, and not forever.
Sky is set to defend the title against Dante Martin on tonight’s AEW Rampage show.
