CM Punk Names AEW Star His Wrestler Of The Year So Far AEW

AEW star CM Punk has named Dax Harwood of FTR his wrestler of the year so far.

During this week’s (May 11) edition of Dynamite, Harwood came up short against Adam Cole in the Owen Hart Cup Tournament.

Following the bout, Harwood tweeted:

I’m just a 5’10 North Carolinian with a less than ideal body. Y’all shouldn’t like me, but I’m damn sure happy y’all do.

I went to failure tonight; but I didn’t fail.

Praising the star, CM Punk shared Harwood’s tweet with the caption:

My wrestler of the year so far. #FTR

Harwood has had a considerable amount of success in 2022. FTR started the year as AAA Tag Team Champions and went on to defeat The Briscoes for the ROH Tag Team Titles at Supercard of Honor, in what many fans considered the match of the night.

The team successfully defended both titles against long-time rivals the Young Bucks on the April 6 edition of Dynamite. Harwood qualified for the Owen Hart Cup Tournament after pinning his tag partner, Cash Wheeler, on the April 27 episode.

CM Punk will have the chance to win gold at Double or Nothing on May 29, when he will challenge for Hangman Page’s AEW World Championship. You can view the updated card for the event right here.
