CM Punk Appears At WWE NXT Deadline

CM Punk Appears At WWE NXT Deadline WWE

Both Shawn Michaels and CM Punk kicked off tonight’s WWE NXT Deadline on Peacock in an interesting in-ring exchange.

While the broadcast started with HBK making an entrance, he only asked the crowd ‘Are you ready?’ before he was interrupted.

By none other than CM Punk who made an entrance to a thunderous crowd ovation, perhaps so pleasant that it distracted the pair from what they were meant to say in the ring.

Punk even mentioned that Michaels had forgotten what he was supposed to say, with Punk filling in to mention that people in the back had been taking selfies with Punk because they watched him when they were younger, so Punk decided to do the same with Michaels in the ring, because Punk watched Michaels when he was younger.

With CM Punk apologizing for interrupting HBK’s schtick, he asked if he was going to say ‘Suck it!’ or if he did that anymore, with Michaels responding with a zinger of his own.

“Nice hoodie,” Shawn Michaels said to CM Punk’s pink Bret Hart hoodie to which Punk responded, “I’m sorry I left my HBK merch at home.”

Going on to add: “Hey, you guys made up! I made up with Triple H, this is all about healing!”

“Anything is possible baby, anything is possible” said HBK in response.

CM Punk came bearing a piece of good news and bad news he reported but honestly it didn’t seem like he got to it.

Like an award show when an winning star goes over time and music plays to signal their time was up, ‘Cult of Personality’ hit.

Marking a bit of an abrupt ending to the segment, it all seemed in good fun as CM Punk and HBK embraced as the broadcast faded to black and threw to a video package for the night’s big show.

There was something of a tease that Punk could choose to sign with NXT as he makes his decision on the next episode of Raw as to which brand he’ll sign to – Raw, NXT or SmackDown.

Elsewhere set for NXT Deadline tonight in addition to the Punk appearance, Ilja Dragunov defends the WWE NXT Championship against Baron Corbin, Dirty Dominik Mysterio defends the North American Championship against Dragon Lee and a pair of intriguing matches.

Both the men’s and women’s divisions will host an Iron Survivor Challenge Match for the second time after debuting the stipulation at last year’s WWE NXT Deadline.

The women’s match is set to feature Tiffany Stratton vs. Lash Legend vs. Blair Davenport vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Fallon Henley.

The men’s match is set to see Dijak vs. Trick Williams vs. Josh Briggs vs. Bron Breakker vs. Tyler Bate.

Also set for action, Carmelo Hayes vs. Lexis King in the latter’s premium live event debut, and Roxanne Perez vs. Kiana James in a steel cage.
