Cody Rhodes References Rubber Chicken & His Friend ‘Matt’ In Response To Brock Lesnar WWE

Last year’s Raw after WrestleMania show closed in shocking fashion, when Brock Lesnar laid waste to the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes after previously agreeing to team with him in the main event against Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns.

Cody came to the ring tonight to address the attack from Lesnar. He said that he usually has a singular focus, but after last week he’s a bit cloudy.

He says that he lost at WrestleMania because he did not adjust for Roman or what he would do to get the job done.

He says that he spoke to his friend ‘Matt’ about how wins and losses matter, and the only people saying they don’t are people who already finished the story.

With speculation that Matt could be referring to AEW’s Matt Jackson, Matt Cardona took to Twitter during the promo to seemingly confirm it was in reference to him.

He then spoke about Paul Heyman saying that he would have to ‘earn’ a rematch with Roman Reigns, which undermines his entire career ‘from the undercard to the EVP’.

Cody then addressed Brock Lesnar, saying that the only thing more embarrassing than laying with a rubber chicken near your head his putting your heart on the line and getting attacked by Brock.

Cody then had his own theory about why Brock Lesnar attacked him, saying that he believes Brock is uncertain about the hype about Cody, and the change that he can bring to WWE.

Cody says that Brock looks at everyone and thinks ‘victim’, and that if he was asked if he was scared of Brock Lesnar, he would be crazy not to be, but he still wants to fight him.

Cody said that he will pounce on Brock when he blinks, and that next time he looks in the mirror, he will see a victim, Cody’s victim.

Cody then challenged Brock to a one on one first time ever match at Backlash in Puerto Rico.
