Cody Rhodes Plans For After WWE WrestleMania 40 Revealed WWE

Cody Rhodes has revealed his plans for after WrestleMania 40, where he plans to win the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship.

With his Royal Rumble win in January, Rhodes earned another shot at finishing his story.

Following his huge tag-team match on WrestleMania 40 Night One, the American Nightmare will once again challenge for Roman Reigns’ gold at WrestleMania 40 Night Two.

With Cody Rhodes’ current WWE run appearing to lead to him finishing his story, Rhodes has now revealed what’s next for him if he wins the gold in the main event of WrestleMania.

Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show at WWE World, Rhodes stated that he intends to be champion on both Raw and SmackDown. This would indicate that Rhodes will be acting as a free agent if he wins at WrestleMania, rather than remaining on Raw or moving to SmackDown.

Rhodes is currently on the Raw roster, following his first round draft pick in the 2023 WWE Draft. The Universal Championship has been on SmackDown since late-2019, but was unified with Raw’s WWE Championship in 2022.

The Raw brand does currently have a world champion, with Seth Rollins becoming the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion in May 2023.

Rhodes and Rollins will team together in the main event of WrestleMania 40 Night One to battle Roman Reigns and The Rock.

If Rhodes and Rollins win, the Bloodline will be banned from the WrestleMania 40 Night Two main event, but if Reigns and The Rock win, the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship match will be contested under “Bloodline Rules”.

The Rock has shared his honest thoughts on WWE’s decision to pivot from the original plans for WrestleMania 40.
