A current WWE champion has reacted to an incredible 10-year old coincidence with their current rival and challenger.
It was officially announced on last night’s episode of NXT that current NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria will defend the title against Roxanne Perez at NXT Stand & Deliver.
The match comes after weeks of Perez showing frustration with not being given a shot at the title, which has seen her turn heel in the process, viciously attacking Valkyria’s arm following her match against the Kabuki Warriors alongside Tatum Paxley.
On Twitter today, fans found an old tweet from Valkyria that she posted back in 2014, where she shared a picture of AJ Lee taking a photo alongside a young fan.
She wrote:
Aj with a fan.. The girl looks like she’s about to cry i know i would! She always has a cup of coffee in her hand
As it turns out, the young fan in the picture turned out to be a young Roxanne Perez, and Lyra has now reacted to the incredible coincidence 10 years in the making.
She responded:
What are the odds. Maybe in another world we would have been friends. But there can only be one NXT Womens champion.
@roxanne_wwe you’re gonna have to look in the mirror and tell that little girl why you made all the wrong choices.
At @WWENXT Stand and Deliver, you will pay.
Roxanne herself had a response to the picture, responding to Lyra with a photo of her standing over the champion while posing with her title.
She wrote:
Hahaha who’s crying now Lyra
