Earlier this week, WrestleTalk’s Louis Dangoor had the pleasure of interviewing TNT Champion Darby Allin about a variety of topics, including the debut of Sting, winning the title at Full Gear and much more.
One of the things Allin opened up about is whether or not he’d be open to stepping into the tag team division for AEW, namedropping Sting and former opponents Cody Rhodes and Jon Moxley as potential partners:
“For a while there, I feel like it was me and Moxley. Anything that I can do to get in the ring with FTR, I’m game. I would like to do stuff with Sting, but where I gel wise, I don’t know probably Moxley… Hell, even me and Cody had something going there last week.”
When asked why he namedropped FTR as a tag team that he’d like to work with specifically, the TNT Champion explained that he is a big fan of the style in which Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler wrestle:
“I just like their style. I like everything. I just want to get in there and do something like that in today’s landscape when it’s kind of rare to be able to wrestle like that. It’s cool. I just wanna get in there and make moments.”
Louis Dangoor then reached out to Dax Harwood for his comment on the matter, who said that he has “so much respect for Darby”, particularly for “being different and going against the grain”:
I have so much respect for him. In a world where everyone is afraid of being different and going against the grain, he actually tries to be the opposite of what everyone else is. Plus, he loves selling. He’s one of the very few that gets it.
