Dean Ambrose Cuts Emotional Promo At Shield’s Last Chapter Last Night

At the ‘Shield’s Last Chapter’ WWE Network special last night, Dean Ambrose teamed with Shield brothers Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to take down the trio of Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley.

The match would be Ambrose’s last with WWE for the foreseeable future as the “Lunatic Fringe” decided against renewing his WWE contract. The Shield finished off Baron Corbin with one final Triple Powerbomb, ending the show and Dean’s WWE career on a high note.

After the bout, the crowd chanted “please don’t go”, and the three men embraced in the middle of the ring in what was undeniably an emotional moment.

However, what has fans and even fellow WWE stars talking is the passionate promo that Ambrose cut after the bout. Raw star Natalya shared a video that a fan posted on Twitter where Dean talks about the intention of the Shield being to prove to people how anything can be achieved if you put your mind to it and don’t take no for an answer.

The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion turned to Seth Rollins and said the fact he was the Universal Champion proved that. Ambrose would then turn his attention to Roman Reigns and said that he overcame something worse than any of us could even imagine, referencing his recent fight with leukaemia.

Some people still suspected Ambrose leaving was a work, with it being strange that WWE announced that one of their top stars would not be re-signing their contract. Some fans suggested that Ambrose would attack his Shield brothers after the match, turning heel and confirming he was staying with the company. However, the closing shot of the show was the Shield in the ring doing their fist bumps. This all but confirms that Dean Ambrose is definitely leaving WWE.

After last night, it was reported that Ambrose likely won’t be signing with AEW, despite their interest in him. It is widely expected that Dean will be taking some time away from wrestling.
