Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder in WWE, made a surprise appearance on AEW: Dynamite this past Wednesday night. It is now being reported his deal may not be for very long at all.
According to Wrestling Inc., Cardona’s contract is on an appearance by appearance basis. He is reportedly only signed for 5 appearances at this time.

One thing we’ve seen from AEW is a willingness to sign wrestlers after proving themselves worthy. Ricky Starks and Eddie Kingston are great examples.
So, it’s possible, this could turn into a long term deal. However, it does not appear that is the current intention.
Fightful has confirmed this report with their sources. What do you think of this signing? Would you like to see the former Zack Ryder stick around or is a short term deal to see if it is the right fit a better way of doing business?
