What Happened With Drew McIntyre After SmackDown Before Royal Rumble 2024 WWE

Here’s what happened with Drew McIntyre after Friday’s (January 26) edition of WWE SmackDown went off the air.

This week’s edition of WWE SmackDown marked the final WWE show ahead of Saturday’s highly anticipated Royal Rumble premium live event.

In the main event of the live episode, LA Knight faced off against Solo Sikoa in singles action.

The bout ended via DQ following interference, with AJ Styles, Randy Orton and LA Knight brawling ahead of their fourway WWE Undisputed Universal Championship bout against Roman Reigns.

This was not the final match of the night however, with the Miami crowd getting to watch two dark matches after the cameras stopped rolling.

In the first non-televised match, Drew McIntyre defeated The Miz in singles action, following a Claymore kick.

Per Pat Laprade, the crowd was vocal during the bout, chanting “this is awesome” at times.

A second dark match took place following this, with Jey Uso defeating Damian Priest.

McIntyre is considered by many to be one of the favourites heading into this weekend’s Royal Rumble, following his confrontations with the likes of CM Punk and Seth Rollins.

One WWE star has been told that they will not be competing in a Rumble match on Saturday, which you can read more about right here.
