Former IMPACT Wrestling X Division Champion Jake Crist has shared a video of him setting two title belts on fire over lack of pay.
In the video, Crist called out IWA Mid-South owner Ian Rotten, claiming that he hasn’t been paid, a month after an appearance for the promotion.
Crist then poured gasoline over championship belts he held for the promotion before cutting to a shot of the gold on fire.
Crist’s video has since been shared by a number of wrestlers including former NXT star Zachary Wentz (Nash Carter), who urged promoters to ‘Pay your talent’ in a now-deleted tweet.
Jake Crist notably wrestled for IMPACT between 2017-2020, notably holding the IMPACT Tag Team Championship in 2017 and the X Division Championship in 2019. Crist made a one-off return in August 2021, unsuccessfully challenging for Josh Alexander’s X Division Title.
For everyone that’s been screwed over by a promotion this is for you! For the people!!! No excuses, you should have paid me, what’s done is done! pic.twitter.com/ScDLi4SNyX
