It has been revealed that a former WWE star hid in a closet ahead of their AEW debut.
On the Grand Slam edition of AEW Dynamite, former WWE star Saraya, formerly known as Paige, made her debut with the company.
Speaking on the latest AEW Unrestricted podcast, referee Aubrey Edwards revealed that Saraya had been hidden in a closet prior to making her debut.
Edwards said:
“We had Saraya show up, which was incredible. I think they hid her in a closet that was labeled like, ‘AEW Tech Supplies.’ So, everyone knew not to go in there.”
Tony Schiavone further backed up this claim, saying:
“That’s exactly what they did, yeah. Yeah, I love that. I was like, ‘When did we have a tech supply closet? Oh, okay, smart, smart.'”
Saraya has been feuding with Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. on AEW television since her arrival. The two women will have a sitdown interview with Renee Paquette to discuss their issues.
