Former multi-time WWE Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin has shared an update on future plans following departure.
On September 21, 2023, WWE announced a series of talent cuts, which included former Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin.
After two stints and nearly two decades with WWE, many fans have been wondering when they will see Benjamin appear again for a major promotion.
During a recent interview with Simon Miller of WhatCulture Wrestling, Shelton Benjamin was asked about what his next move in wrestling will be. He answered:
“My immediate plan is just to coast a bit and see what’s out there, see what life has to offer,”
“Because for seven years, I was with WWE, and…I had a ten-year run with them before that. So for now, I’m not in any rush.”
“I’m keeping my options open. I can’t say anybody’s any more of a front-runner than anything, but I definitely want to come back to the UK.”
“As a matter of fact, I’m going to be going back to Australia, where I’m going to be involved in an event out there.”
As previously reported, AEW has had conversations with Shelton Benjamin about a possible debut for the promotion dating back to March.
It remains to be seen where Benjamin will potentially sign with at the time of this writing.
