Tony Khan has confirmed the future of the AEW Battle of the Belts specials.
In January 2022, All Elite Wrestling first aired their quarterly Battle of the Belts special. This followed the launch of Rampage and Dynamite moving to TBS.
On May 17, Warner Bros. Discovery announced that they were launching a brand new weekly two-hour primetime show for the company titled, AEW Collision, to premiere on Saturday, June 17.
When Collision was announced, there had been speculation regarding the future of the quarterly specials for the promotion.
Speaking with POST Wrestling, AEW President Tony Khan confirmed that the AEW Battle of the Belts special would continue and noted more details about the next event that is set to come out soon. He said:
“Yeah, Battle of the Belts will continue, which is great. As far as where the next episode of Battle of the Belts will run on TNT, whether it be on a Friday or Saturday, is a great question. We’re still talking about that. We’ll have an answer about that soon.”
Towards the end of 2022, AEW started airing Battle of the Belts following Rampage on Fridays. It remains to be seen when the next show will take place.
