Cody Rhodes Plans For Match With The Rock Potentially Revealed WWE

WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes seemingly alluded to his unfinished business with The Final Boss The Rock after Backlash.

At the WWE Backlash post-show press conference, when asked about potential future opponents or rivalries he has yet to explore, Rhodes refused to mention his name but did reference an ominous person.

Saying that they ‘returned a gift’ to him that they shouldn’t have, he noted that perhaps that person had something that Cody Rhodes wanted to take from him.

It certainly seemed as though Rhodes was referencing The Rock and their recent post-WrestleMania 40 exchange whereby the Rock gave Cody something in his hand.

Rhodes has elsewhere commented that the item was a gift that Cody had gifted The Rock that he gave back to him, now with the added detail of ‘he shouldn’t have’.

You can see more of Cody’s comments from the post-WWE Backlash press conference below.

Elsewhere on tonight’s premium live event, three of the four titles that were on the line on the show were retained by the champion who walked in holding them.

Damian Priest retained his WWE World Heavyweight Championship over Jey Uso, Bayley retained her WWE Women’s Championship in a Triple Threat Match against Naomi and Tiffany Stratton and the aforementioned win by Rhodes.

There was one title change however as Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair made history, winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship from the Kabuki Warriors (Kairi Sane and Asuka).
