Here’s Why Heavy Machinery Didn’t Win SmackDown Tag Titles At Elimination Chamber

There is no denying that WWE fans love Otis, despite the fact that the former NXT star is not positioned as a main eventer on SmackDown.

This weekend at Elimination Chamber, Otis teamed with Tucker to compete in the SmackDown Tag Team Championship chamber match. Due to his popularity, some speculated that Heavy Machinery might walk out with the titles.

Others thought that perhaps Robert Roode and Otis’ rival Dolph Ziggler might win the match, allowing Heavy Machinery to win the titles in a feel-good moment at WrestleMania next month.

However, Ziggler pinned Tucker, eliminating Heavy Machinery from the match. The bout was ultimately won by John Morrison and The Miz.

Dave Meltzer is reporting on the Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE has plans for Otis ad Ziggler to go one-on-one at WrestleMania. There were reportedly no plans to have either team win the titles.

Meltzer also noted that WWE wants to go in another direction for the tag titles at ‘Mania. Based on the last few weeks of TV, I think Morrison and Miz will defend against The Usos and possibly also New Day.
