An indie wrestling star has made his WWE debut tonight (February 6) in a match for the crowd at the NXT taping.
Making his WWE NXT debut tonight, Je’Von Evans – fka Jay Malachi in the indies, who joined WWE at the start of this year along with the likes of Wren Sinclair (Madi Wrenkowski) and Brogan Finlay.
Evans may be new to NXT but he is an established wrestler, boasting dates for DEADLOCK Pro, OVW and even AEW.
In a match at tonight’s NXT taping before NXT TV itself began, Evans faced off against Brooks Jensen in a bout presumably set to air on a future edition of NXT Level Up.
Elsewhere on tonight’s episode of NXT, Carmelo Hayes started off the show, although while he teased he was about to tell-all after his attack on Trick Williams at Vengeance Day, he did not.
In the end, Melo simply said, “Not now” and left the ring after hearing plenty of displeased chants from the NXT Performance Center live crowd.
