Current NXT General Manager William Regal has been teasing a major announcement for tonight’s show. There had been very few details about what the announcement could be but now we might have a clue.
Regal posted a tweet earlier today, possibly signaling the end of his time in NXT. While this is merely speculation at this time, it does seem like he is preparing to say goodbye. Here is the tweet:
Serving as the General Manager or #WWENXT has been an incredible honor. To see the men and women of this brand over the last couple of months has been inspiring and invigorating.
Tonight’s major announcement will be yet another step forward for @WWENXT.

Regal has served as the on-screen authority figure for NXT since 2014. He was initially a commentator for the gold brand before WWE decided to move him to a figurehead role. Since then his role has been consistent, playing the babyface general manager.
Regal is also the Director of Talent Development and Head of Global Recruiting for WWE. He has also worked as a trainer at the WWE Performance Center since 2015.
