Jim Ross Picks Surprising Name To Be ‘Big-Time Player’ In AEW

AEW lead announcer Jim Ross has picked a surprising name that he thinks could become a “big-time player” for the promotion.

The name that Ross mentioned was Ethan Page, and I’m not saying that’s surprising because there’s anything wrong with Page – he’s great – but he’s probably not the first name that comes to people’s minds given the depth of AEW’s roster.

Speaking on Grilling Jr, Jim Ross said:

“Darby is one of my favorites. He’s one of my favorites to talk to. Darby is very creative. He comes up with a lot of his own material, shall we say. He’s one of our homegrown guys that we take pride in; he and Jungle Boy Jack Perry, for example. Nobody should sleep on Ethan Page. He’s going to be a big-time player. He’s doing really well.”

Ross added that Page has the ‘look, attitude and smarts’ of someone who could make it to the top of the roster as long as he can stay fit and healthy.

Page came into AEW this past February and was soon put in a tag team with Scorpio Sky, who now brand themselves as the Men of the Year.

Page will be in action on tonight’s Fyter Fest special edition of AEW Dynamite as he faces Darby Allin in a coffin match.
