John Cena & Daniel Bryan Reportedly “Refusing” To Work WWE Crown Jewel

For about a week now, concerns and controversy surround WWE‘s upcoming Crown Jewel event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 2 have been mounting.

After reports that the Saudi government ordered for the brutal assassination of a journalist, many called for WWE to follow what many other major global companies have done and end their communication with the Middle East nation.

Despite reports that they are wanting to push forward with the event, WWE has quietly acted on all this controversy, removing Saudi Arabia from all the promotion for the event, and also postponing ticket sales, which are now listed for the date of the event itself.

And now, according to Robbie Fox of Barstool Sports, two of the biggest influences in the company are refusing to work the event.

Fox tweeted the following:

If this is true, one has to believe WWE has almost no other option but to cancel or relocate the event. Cena is scheduled for the World Cup tournament, and Bryan is set for a WWE Championship match.

Roman Reigns being injured, which would explain his mysterious absence from a couple of recent house shows, is also quite the blow, as he is set to defend the Universal Championship against Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar.

Previously, some other major names from the company have gone on record saying they think WWE should go through with the event, namely JBL and Randy Orton, but Cena and Bryan “refusing” to go is a lot more than a little hurdle to jump over.
