John Cena Opens Up On Relationship With The Rock Following SmackDown Interaction WWE

The Rock made a surprise return to WWE television on the September 15 episode of SmackDown in Denver, when he and Pat McAfee confronted Austin Theory.

Following the segment, The Rock had a brief backstage interaction with John Cena, where the two men embraced.

Speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Cena discussed the moment with Rock on the show, discussing his relationship with The Rock, and him apologising for the business he conducted during their feud.

He said:

“In between the times we’ve spent with each other, I’ve openly come to a realisation that the first foray into us competing against each other probably was a professional mistake on my part, and I’ve been very apologetic and open with my apology that the way I conducted business was in the realm of trying to do good business, and we did great business.

“It was really nice to see a friend, he’s actually generous with his time, we actually conversed for a little bit, and that’s the first time we’d seen each other since publicly apologising for that, and I just wanted to make sure he heard it from me face to face as well, and it was really nice to see a friend.”
