Jon Moxley Returns To NJPW, Sets Up Match For Wrestle Kingdom

AEW star Jon Moxley made his return to NJPW at the World Tag League Finals, setting up a championship match for Wrestle Kingdom in January.

After IWGP US Champion Lance Archer and Minoru Suzuki beat KENTA and Yujiro Takahashi, Moxley appeared and nailed Archer with the Death Rider.

He then cut a promo challenging Archer to a bout for his title at Wrestle Kingdom, but not just any match, specifically, a Texas Deathmatch.

Moxley held the IWGP US Title earlier this year, and never actually lost it. Instead, he was stripped of the belt due to not being able to make it to King of Pro Wrestling because of typhoon Hagibis.

There. he was scheduled to face former champ Juice Robinson, and it was instead Archer who stepped in and beat Robinson to become the new title holder.

Moxley’s last match in NJPW came on the final night of the G1 Climax, as he and Shota Umino lost a tag match to Robinson and Toa Henare.
