Jon Moxley Reflects On What The Shield Have Accomplished In WWE & AEW WWE

Current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley has reflected on what The Shield have accomplished in WWE and AEW.

In 2012, The Shield’s Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose made their debut for WWE at Survivor Series. From there, the trios ran roughshod over the company with an undefeated streak and claiming gold.

Since their split in 2014, the three men have gone on to win 11 world championships in WWE alone, but Ambrose went on to become Jon Moxley after leaving the company in 2019.

Moxley has gone to win the AEW World Championship three times and is the current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion in NJPW.

Meanwhile, Reigns is coming off a 1316 day reign as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and Rollins had a 316 day reign as World Heavyweight Champion.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Jon Moxley discussed what he and his fellow Shield brethren have accomplished since forming as a stable. He said:

“What they’ve done, it’s a really cool thing,”

“We were nobodies. We came in with attitudes, and we pretty much said, ‘We’re coming in, f*** you, and we’re taking this sh** over.’”

“The more time that passes, the more it becomes evident that we did exactly what we said we were going to do.”

Jon Moxley will defend the IWGP World Heavyweight Title against Powerhouse Hobbs on the April 24 edition of AEW Dynamite.

Moxley also explained his contract status with both AEW and NJPW following his WWE exit, which you can read here.
