Carmelo Hayes First WWE Main Roster Feud Seemingly Revealed WWE

On tonight’s WWE SmackDown (May 3) it seemed that a first feud for Carmelo Hayes on the main roster may have been revealed.

In an intriguing backstage segment, Bobby Lashley met Carmelo Hayes and extended grace to the rookie star.

Noting that he was impressed by Hayes, Lashley extended a hand of support and noted that he was there for Melo if there was any pointers he may need.

However, Carmelo Hayes exuded arrogance, reminding Lashley that he was a first round draft pick in the 2024 WWE Draft and faced Cody Rhodes last week on SmackDown so he didn’t need any pointers.

After Lashley reminded Melo that he lost last week, Melo delivered some more attitude – asking when Lashley had last shot his own shot – before walking off.

Lashley then responded by telling Hayes he needs to be careful who he disrespects around here. You can see the clip from SmackDown below.

With art imitating real-life daily dramas surrounding intergenerational workplaces, there’s an intriguing storyline layer to what could be epic matches.

Elsewhere on tonight’s WWE SmackDown ahead of tomorrow’s May 4 Backlash premium live event, the team of Bayley, Naomi, Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair beat Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai, Asuka and Kairi Sane) and Tiffany Stratton.
