Former WWE star Kairi Sane has shared her first comments after becoming a free agent, following her release earlier this year.
Kairi Sane was one of a number of stars let go by the company in April’s round of talent cuts.
The three-time Women’s Tag Team Champion took to Twitter to share a post on Thursday (July 23), following her 90-day non-compete clause expiring.
Sharing her first message as a free agent, Kairi wrote:

Following her first run with WWE from 2017 to 2021, the Japanese star returned to the company in November 2023, with her first appearance back being at that month’s Crown Jewel event.
A substantial amount of her second run with WWE saw her compete as part of the Damage CTRL faction.
Kairi’s final WWE match saw her team with Asuka in a losing effort against IYO SKY and WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley.
This was ahead of IYO SKY and Asuka concluding their feud with a singles match at Backlash on May 9.
This is Asuka’s most recent in-ring appearance at the time of writing, with Asuka later stating that her appearances for WWE will be “rare” going forward.
Kairi Sane’s WWE exit resulted in backlash from fans who criticised the company for cutting a star in the middle of a prominent storyline, with Kairi’s change of heart being teased throughout Asuka and IYO SKY’s rivalry.
Fans argued that with cuts like these, it makes people less likely to get invested in storylines and individual stars, as the rug could be pulled at any moment.
