Kenny Omega Talks About Wanting Dream Matches With Major WWE Stars

During an interview with Forbes to promote next week’s ‘Winter is Coming’ special episode of AEW Dynamite, where he’ll be fighting for the AEW World Championship, Kenny Omega opened up about which WWE stars he’d like to work with.

Omega said that he’d like to work with fellow former Bullet Club leader AJ Styles, as well as current SmackDown star and former WWE Champion Seth Rollins. Here’s exactly what he had to say on the matter:

“AJ [Styles] and I worked together in New Japan. He saved me in a lot of ways when I was thinking about possibly getting out of wrestling. He was there for me to help point me in the right direction and I think he would be a great opponent.

“I get compared a lot to Seth Rollins. Seth is a great wrestler and I think we could have some really great matches together.’

The former IWGP Heavyweight and AEW World Tag Team Champion also said that, as far as he is concerned, New Day “would be a lot of fun to work with”, should the opportunity ever somehow arise.

Kenny Omega also stated that he doesn’t just want to work with people who are fantastic wrestlers, but also those who are genuinely ‘good people’ and who the fans would want to see him work with.

“I just want to work with good people—not good people in the sense that they’re only talented in the ring, but people who are genuinely good dudes who the fans would want to see me wrestle,” said Omega, who also serves as an EVP for AEW. “At the end of the day, I’d just want to wrestle the opponents who would make fans the most excited because that’s really what it’s all about.”

Next week on AEW Dynamite, after defeating Hangman Page at Full Gear, Kenny Omega is going to challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship in a rematch of their violent clash at the Full Gear pay-per-view event last year.
