Kofi Kingston Loses First Match Since Winning WWE Championship At WrestleMania

Since winning the WWE Championship from Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35, Kofi Kingston has torn through the roster, beating all comers and not losing a single match.

But that run came to an abrupt end last night on Raw as Kofi passed out after being put in the Coquina Clutch by Samoa Joe, his opponent at Extreme Rules on July 14.

Looking at the above thumbnail, I’ve just realised that Joe and the Viking Radiers have the same styles of trunks. Two-tone is so in right now.

This really put Joe over as a title contender and although I still think they will leave Kofi losing the belt until one of the big four shows, at least there is now more interest in the match at Extreme Rules.

Before you all start commenting, I know Kofi lost a fall to Dolph Ziggler in his 2-out-of-3 falls match last week, but this is the first time Kofi has lost a match since March 19, which is an incredible run.

Hopefully this isn’t the start of Kofi Kingston being pushed less as the champion and simply a way of putting Joe over strong ahead of their title match.
