The Cauliflower Club is reporting Buddy Colt has passed away at the age of 81. Buddy Colt was a well-known wrestler in Florida throughout the 70s.

Colt worked most of his career as a heel in the Florida territory working with wrestlers like Larry “The Axe” Henning and Abdullah the Butcher. However, Colt might be best known for something that happened outside of the ring.
Buddy Colt held a pilot’s license and was the pilot during a plane crash that took the life of another professional wrestler. The plane went down in Florida and the passengers were Gary Hart, Bobby Shane, and Austin Idol. Bobby Shane did not survive the crash.
The crash effectively ended Colt’s in-ring career. He helped booked shows and did some announcing with Gordon Solie for Championship Wrestling From Florida.
We here at WrestleTalk wish Colt’s family and friends condolences during these difficult times.
