Lio Rush Announces In Ring Return

Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush is set to make his in-ring wrestling return at an upcoming Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) event.

It has now been confirmed that Rush will be appearing at GCW’s Fight Club Weekend. The event will be held at The Showboat in Atlantic City over two nights, October 8 and 9.

The announcement follows a recent tweet from Lio Rush confirming that he was cleared to wrestle.  Rush has been out of action since January, after sustaining a shoulder injury during a match against Buddy Matthews during the 2022 PWG Battle of Los Angeles.

Rush’s tweet updating fans of his status simply stated “CLEARED.”

Lio Rush is also due to compete in the 2022 British J Cup in Stevenage on October 22.

After his WWE release in April 2020, Rush made his AEW debut last year at AEW Double or Nothing in 2021, Rush remained contracted with the company until  February 2022.

Rush regularly appears for NJPW on the STRONG brand, and teased a run in Japan during his wrestling hiatus.
