Ludwig Kaiser Explains Origins Of Imperium’s Ring Style WWE

Ever since Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser arrived on SmackDown after WrestleMania 38, they have dominated competition on the blue brand.

The duo were reunited with Giovanni Vinci at Clash at the Castle, reuniting Imperium on the main roster.

Imperium’s throwback ring style is something that runs deep within every member of the group, and it’s Ludwig’s family lineage that is to attribute for that.

Speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Gunther said that Ludwig’s father, German wrestling legend Axel Dieter, was a huge influence on he and Ludwig, with the pair connecting with Vinci later in WWE.

Gunther said:

“I have to say, to his (Kaiser’s) dad, he inspired all of us because that’s where our identity comes from. Obviously Gio (Vinci), we connected later, so it was a little bit different perhaps. But there was a heavy influence on all of us.”

Ludwig then spoke about how his father had taught him that mindset since he was young, with him even adopting Imperium’s ‘the mat is sacred’ phrase from him.

He added:

“100 percent, down to the ‘The mat is sacred’ and all that kind of stuff. My dad, I remember a very young age, whenever there were some kind of festivity or whatever, he would always raise his glass and say, ‘The mat is sacred.’

“A lot of the things that we say, and to a certain extent portray on TV is what we actually think … what I was taught when I was a little boy.”
