For the first time in several years, many people were incredibly excited to tune into the Impact Wrestling Slammiversary pay-per-view that took place on Saturday night.

The marketing Impact did for the show was nothing short of perfection, with it being established that one or more former WWE stars who were released in April would either debut or return to Impact at the show.

Of the released WWE stars, who saw EC3, Eric Young and Heath Slater appear on the show in some capacity. The Good Brothers were also announced as Impact stars on the day of the show.

Another return/debut that took place on the show was that of the Motor City Machine Guns. The duo returned to Impact and defeated The Rascalz in the show’s opening contest.

Fightful Select reported on Saturday morning that Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin were set to return at Slammiversary. He also added that Impact has big plans for the talented duo in the tag team division.

The site is now reporting that Motor City Machine Guns will defeat The North tonight on Impact to win the Tag Team Championships. This will be their second reign with the belts:

 As Fightful Select reported Saturday, MotorCity Machine Guns are back in the the fold in IMPACT, with big plans for them. The plan as far back as of last week was for them to emerge victorious and win the Tag Team Championships, which airs Tuesday.

This is pretty big news, as The North just passed one year as Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions, and are the longest reigning tag champions in the promotion’s history.
