Major ROH Star’s Contract Expiring Soon

Dave Meltzer noted in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that RUSH’s Ring of Honor contract will be coming to an end at the end of this year. He noted that RUSH didn’t work the latest set of ROH tapings:

ROH Champion Rush, who didn’t work the last set of tapings, has his contract expire at the end of this year.

Meltzer did not reveal whether or not he’s heard that the ROH World Champion is looking to extend his deal with the promotion. For the latest updates on this potentially rather interesting story, make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.

Dave Meltzer actually noted over a year ago that there was some talk of WWE looking to bring in RUSH when his ROH deal comes to an end at the end of this year, and his CMLL runs out at the beginning of 2021:

“There’s been a lot of talk regarding Rush when his contract expires here at the end of the year. The two key points are that Andrade, who was not happy in NXT and WWE for a long time when not being used, is happy now, has a good relationship with Charlotte Flair, is getting a push and making money. So the attitude of being negative to his good friend about coming has changed. WWE has obviously wanted RUSH for some time, but the second issue is he’s still under contract to CMLL until early 2021″

At this time, it is not clear whether or not WWE is interesting in bringing the major ROH star into the promotion, but you have to think that if the opportunity to sign RUSH became available, WWE could at least consider it.
