Matt Hardy Hints At BROKEN Return

Matt Hardy took toTwitter earlier this week posting a cryptic video that may signal the end of his time in a WWE ring is closer than many had hoped.

Ominously titled ‘HARD TRUTHS’, the minute and a half video was shot and edited by Matt’s wife, Reby Hardy at the Hardy Compound in Cameron, North Carolina.

The video starts with a suited Matt driving up to the Hardy compound. Matt narrates, talking about people not understanding how hard it is to be him and the difficulty of separating fantasy and reality. This leads to a poignant shot of the gates to the Hardy home, with Matt disclosing:

“I myself must accept the wicken reality that my time, that my broken brilliance may soon be coming to an end in a WWE universe ring.”

At the mid point a number of voices from different sources ask what is next for the Broken Matt character.

Matt and Jeff returned at WrestleMania 33 as the Hardy Boyz. After the nostalgia faded, Matt eventually changed into the Broken character (after a lengthy legal battle with Anthem Media). Later, Woken Matt teamed with Brey Wyatt to win the Raw Tag Team Tiles at the Greatest Royal Rumble. They held the belts until the Extreme Rules pay per view, losing to the B-Team. Many have wondered if Matt would revert to his old character or remain Broken, Matt appears to have answered this his tweet.

After the voices stop, Matt moved inside the compound, changed into Broken Matt and declared:

“When ever I step though this gate, this gate that symbolises the line between reality and fantasy. There’s a wonderful fantasy of Woken Matt Hardy will forever be a reality on the magical Hardy compound.”

Sources report that Hardy has been shadowing producers to learn and understand the job, with him helping to produce an improved SummerSlam. With Reby Hardy talking about Matt’s WWE contract expiring in March next year and Matt revealing the extent of his lower back issues, many speculate that this could be his last programme with the WWE.
