NXT star Matt Riddle defeated Roderick Strong in what was a fantastic opening match at this weekend’s NXT Takeover: XXV event. This came after the former UFC star teased an appearance on Monday’s Raw show earlier on in the day.
WWE are clearly impressed with the impact Riddle has made since his signing with the company in the summer of 2018, and have big plans for him in the future on the main roster.
This has been evidenced by PWInsider who is reporting that WWE has discussed, as recently as this weekend, including Riddle in the 50-man Battle Royale at WWE Super ShowDown on Friday night. If Riddle does make an appearance at the show in Saudi Arabia, it will be his first on WWE’s main roster.
However, Riddle is not the only performer from the black and gold brand who could potentially be making his main roster debut this week. PWInsider’s report also suggests that there has been some talk backstage of involving some other NXT stars to Friday night’s 50-man match. However, these other stars are not known at this time.
