Mick Foley Tells Stories About Vince McMahon & All Time Favorite Jim Ross Calls On ‘Hot Ones’

Mick Foley Tells Stories About Vince McMahon & All Time Favorite Jim Ross Calls On ‘Hot Ones’ youtube/FirstWeFeast

Mick Foley made an appearance on the First we Feast web series, Hot Ones where he shared multiple intriguing stories.

Including one about Vince McMahon revealing to him what his intended ring name was set to be.

While Mick Foley had already heard backstage that the moniker was intended to be ‘Mason the Mutilator’, he felt it was a ‘death knell’ of a name.

He said when speaking to McMahon, he pitched him the name and Foley was agreeable saying he loved it but added a ‘… but what if…’ that he noted was a key to communicating with Vince.

He pitched to drop the Mason for ‘Mankind’ so that it could hold a variety of meanings and… to avoid the Mason moniker.

Later in the appearance, Mick Foley is asked if he has an all-time favorite Jim Ross call to which he responds:

“I mean, there’s great hidden calls and Jim’s got a new book coming out about his 50 greatest calls and the stories behind them, which should be a must-read for any diehard wrestling fan.

“But I mean, say you’re watching the World Cup and a team goes up 3-0, and you see memes across the globe that say ‘Enough is enough, somebody stop the damn match!’

“I mean, it’s a tie for me between ‘As God as my witness, he’s been broken in half’ and ‘Enough is enough, won’t somebody stop the damn match’ from the same match, only a few minutes apart.

“I mean, he was really in the zone. And it was great that he didn’t know about it so he was calling it as he felt it.

“And even if he does know something might be happening, he is the ultimate professional, he does a great job bringing those matches to life.”

Spoiler: Vince said no thumbtacks and well, Royal Rumble 2000 absolutely had them!
