Miro Believes Interim AEW World Title Is Beneath Him AEW

AEW star Miro has given his thoughts on the Interim AEW World Championship.

The former TNT Champion returned to All Elite Wrestling on the June 1 edition of AEW Dynamite and has wasted no time in reestablishing himself in the company.

Speaking with WhatCulture Wrestling, Miro discussed what he thought about the Interim AEW World Title Match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

He said:

“I know I’m a World Champion material. I know I’m in that class. I know I’m the best in AEW and it’s not going to be long before I become the World Heavyweight Title holder.”

“… [Jon Moxley vs Hiroshi Tanahashi] is beneath me, man, that’s a secondary title. That’s not what I care about. If I would’ve cared, I would’ve put myself in that battle royal, I would’ve won it all, and I would’ve gone for the Interim Championship. But until the real champion is back, that [CM] Punk guy that broke his foot or whatever he did — something broke in his body — until he comes back, I beat him for the title, then it wouldn’t matter. I wasn’t interested in charity titles.”

Jon Moxley defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi in the Forbidden Door main event to win the Interim AEW World Championship.

Meanwhile, Miro competed in a four-way match for the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Championship, which PAC was victorious.

Despite the loss at the pay-per-view, The Redeemer has remained undefeated in singles action since his return with wins over Johnny Elite and Ethan Page.
