Jeff Hardy and Shinsuke Nakamura Feud Teased

This week’s Smackdown Live served as a fresh start in the build-up to Extreme Rules with Rusev’s huge win and SAnitY’s debut being obvious talking points. Another of the show’s highlights was the tease of a new feud between United States Champion, Jeff Hardy and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Hardy faced off with the ‘King of Strong Style’ for the first time ever last Tuesday but the highly anticipated match ended in controversy. Nakamura was disqualified during the bout after a low blow, which is slowly becoming his weapon of choice and followed this up with a beatdown after the match had ended.

This week, ‘The Charismatic Enigma’ appeared in a promo with his trademark face paint making a return and addressed Nakamura’s post-match attack on him from last week’s show. He stated that Nakamura’s Kinshasa has ‘opened his eyes’, seemingly making a future encounter between the two an inevitability.

Later in the night during an interview with Rene Young, Nakamura responded saying that he would ‘close Jeff Hardy’s eyes’. With Nakamura failing to win the WWE Championship in his last four opportunities against AJ Styles, it’s integral that he comes out of this rivalry successful if he is going to be considered one of the blue brand’s top stars.

Both men have phenomenal in ring abilities so we can expect Nakamura and Jeff Hardy to put on some great matches which will only elevate the US Title.
