With WWE’s next premium live event, WWE Payback, coming up this Saturday September 2, a new title match has been announced for the show.
Tonight’s edition of WWE Raw (August 28) kicked off with a singles match between Sami Zayn and Damian Priest.
However, Michael Cole on commentary confirmed that the duo of the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens weren’t done with the Judgment Day faction just yet.
After feuding with the faction for several weeks, now an WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship match has been officially added to Saturday’s WWE Payback card.
Judgment Day will be represented by Damian Priest and Finn Balor as they take on Zayn and Owens for their tag title.
Finn Balor and Damian Priest have been teasing dissension across WWE TV for a couple of months now, most recently with the presence Balor’s buddy JD McDonagh.
During tonight’s Zayn vs Priest singles match, while Zayn was priming for the Helluva Kick, instead he was pulled out of the ring by McDonagh which opened up the chance for Priest to instead pick up the victory.
However after the match, after realizing what had occurred, Priest shoved JD McDonagh reminding him to mind his own business.
As Priest walked away, Kevin Owens appeared and both of the tag team champs delivered their finishers on JD McDonagh while Priest did not make any motion towards coming back to make the save.
In a later locker room segment, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens expressed their immense frustration with their seemingly never ending feud with Judgment Day and proposed a stipulation.
This Saturday at WWE Payback there will be a Steel City Street Fight for the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship.
We've got ourselves a STEEL CITY STREET FIGHT this Saturday at #WWEPayback when @SamiZayn & @FightOwensFight defend their #UndisputedTagTitles against @FinnBalor & @ArcherofInfamy!
