Thus far, the opening rounds of the annual New Japan Cup have been largely hit and miss, depending on your taste and expectations. Night 1 ended in terrific style, Night 2 just about managed to scrape over the line, and Night 3 proved to be the best where tournament action is considered. This just left Night 4 to bring up the rear and close out the first round, bringing us one step closer to Kazuchika Okada’s next challenger.
With all but two bracket places left to fill, the baton was passed to Kagawa, Japan on March 12 for the concluding bouts which saw Toru Yano vs Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Chuckie T vs SANADA.
