AEW Star Names Roster Members Who Are In A ‘Different Category’ AEW

Dustin Rhodes has named three AEW wrestlers who he believes are in a “different category” when it comes to their abilities.

Rhodes made the claims on a recent episode of the Sports Guys Talking Wrestling podcast.

According to the AEW star, Kazuchika Okada, Will Ospreay and Konosuke Takeshita are all in a “different category”, with Rhodes saying:

“They should be in a different category. They’re so amazing.

“To watch Will Ospreay the other night, I was like, ‘What in the hell? Oh my god, how? How?’

“You’re questioning, ‘How does he do that?’ It’s just amazing the things, the athleticism they all have.”

He would also place Mercedes Mone in the same level of athletic superiority.

Rhodes noted that the work of Okada, Ospreay and Takeshita had motivated him to become a better wrestler, concluding:

“It’s impressive, and I love it, and it just makes me more of a wrestling fan, you become a fan all over again each day watching these things …

“It makes you want to get in the ring right away and just [say] ‘Let’s go have a match.’

“They make you feel that and that’s something that’s very powerful in the business.”

Following his match against Takeshita at AEW Revolution on March 3, it was reported that Ospreay got a positive reaction from “many people who had been in the business for decades” who had never witnessed him before.

Ospreay is set to face Bryan Danielson at AEW Dynasty on April 21, though it won’t be the main event on that show.

Okada recently became AEW Continental Champion having defeated Eddie Kingston on the March 20 episode of Dynamite.

Takeshita recently faced Swerve Strickland but was unable to defeat him for an opportunity at Samoa Joe’s AEW World Title.
