A new tag team looks to have been added to WWE’s ranks this week, specifically in the women’s division in NXT.
This comes at an interesting time for WWE’s women’s tag division as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler are set to face NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn on the June 23 episode of SmackDown to unify the two titles.
After that happens, it’s unclear whether the NXT belts would go back to NXT, or if they’ll just be scrapped altogether.
Either way, the uncertainty hasn’t prevented the formation of a new team on last night’s June 13 NXT.
After a bit of a confrontation with Jacy Jayne backstage, it appears Elektra Lopez and Lola Vice have formed an alliance. You can see a video of the interaction below.
Those who watch NXT Level Up will know that Lopez and Vice have actually been teaming regularly on that show as of late, but last night was the first time it’s been brought up on NXT TV proper as Vice only made her TV in-ring debut a couple of weeks ago.
For anyone unaware, Vice is the highly touted former Bellator MMA fighter Valerie Loureda.
Lopez, meanwhile, was the sole female member of Legado Del Fantasma in NXT before the other members were moved to the main roster and put with Zelina Vega, while Lopez remained in NXT.
