Road to the Tokyo Dome is in the books and was the final New Japan Pro Wrestling show before Wrestle Kingdom 13. This was New Japan‘s version of a go-home show for their biggest show of the year, which is scheduled for January 4th.
Most notably were the appearance of Chris Jericho and the main event between the Golden Lovers and Hiroshi Tanahashi and Will Ospreay. Both segments will be the final moments to build to the main event matches of the Tokyo Dome.

Chris Jericho appeared earlier in the day at the Wrestle Kingdom 13 press conference. There he cut a promo on his opponent Tetsuya Naito before Naito spat water in his face, inciting a brawl. Jericho would later appear on the Road to the Tokyo Dome show and assault Los Ingobernables de Japon after their match. Jericho hit LIJ with a chair before laying out Naito with a Codebreaker.
The main event featured a tag team match where Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi united to face their Wrestle Kingdom 13 opponents Hiroshi Tanahashi and Will Ospreay. IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Omega and NEVER Openweight Champion, Ibushi managed to defeat their challangers following a Golden Trigger on Ospreay. After the match, Omega and Ibushi cut promos on Tanahashi and Ospreay. Omega said that he did not like Tanahashi and in their match experience will matter more than age. Ibushi followed by saying he believes his match with Ospreay will be a classic and that he wants to team with Omega on January 5th.
It is worth noting that the main event has been called one of the best tag team matches of the year. Some claiming to be in the top tier of matches in an already stacked 2018.
