Number 1 Contenders For AEW Tag Team Championships Revealed

AEW hosted a tag team battle royal tonight [February 19, 2020] on AEW: Dynamite. The winners would become the new number 1 contenders for Kenny Omega and Hangman Page’s AEW Tag Team Championships.

The following teams competed in the match:

• SCU
• TH2
• Young Bucks
• Butcher and Blade
• Jurassic Express
• Best Friends
• Private Party
• Strong Hearts
• Dark Order
• Proud and Powerful/Santana and Ortiz

The final 5 came down to Butcher, Trent, Matt Jackson, and The Inner Circle. Matt Jackson outlasted them all. He ended up having to fight off both Santana and Ortiz and outside interference from Sammy Guevara.

He was able to use a miscommunication to eliminate Ortiz. He then superkicked Sammy. Finally, he eliminated Santana and secured The Young Bucks place in the championship match at AEW: Revolution.

Hangman Page and Kenny Omega will face The Lucha Bros later on for the Tag Team Titles. However, it would be a complete shocker if The Lucha Bros won.

The story AEW has been telling has been focused around Hangman Page’s relationship with The Elite. Even this week on Being the Elite, Hangman was trying to give pointers on how to beat The Bucks to all the teams in the tournament.

The question will be can Hangman and Omega continue to work together or will they eventually implode?
