On tonight’s special New Years Evil edition of WWE NXT (January 10), there was a big match for the NXT Championship.
With champ Bron Breakker defending his NXT Championship against the entertaining Grayson Waller, the live crowd was split.
With fans chanting for both Breakker and Waller, a solid effort broke out between the two in a hard hitting and compelling match with the NXT title on the line.
While the show cut to commercial break, the ring ropes seemed to break as crew scrambled to put ring back together while fans at home watched adverts.
Back from break the ring crew did everything they could the repair the ropes and the match continued.
However, the ring ropes would be snapped again by the end of the match which saw Breakker retain his NXT Championship.
With a display of impressive power and speed, Bron Breakker was able to capitalize on Waller being ejected by the ring ropes and being unable to return to the ring.
Bron Breakker retained his NXT Championship via count out at WWE NXT New Years Evil.
At the end of the show, Shawn Michaels appeared between Bron Breakker and Grayson Waller in a backstage segment where he declared that the match finish was not conclusive enough.
The duo will face off again at NXT’s upcoming premium live event, Vengeance Day!
