Top NXT Star Details Recent Conversation With John Cena

John Cena recently made a stop by the WWE Performance Center and the NXT brand on the October 10 episode of the show.

WWE brought in Cena, as well as The Undertaker, Cody Rhodes and Asuka, due to the show being head to head with the Title Tuesday special episode of AEW Dynamite.

While at the show, Cena spent time with many of the NXT talents, including current NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov, who shared a picture alongside the 16-time world champion.

Speaking to TV Insider, Dragunov was asked about the advice that Cena gave him during their meeting.

He said:

“It wasn’t a long conversation. What I really appreciated was him just randomly pulling me aside. This was something that doesn’t happen every day. He spoke about making moments and building a connection. That is what we were talking about.

“He gives you a whole different perspective, even when you may have the same opinion on things. When you have his approval, then you have the right mindset for this business, and you are on the right path.”

Dragunov is set to defend the NXT Championship against Carmelo Hayes on next week’s night two of Halloween Havoc.
