Following this week’s episode of NXT, we now have three more matches confirmed for NXT TakeOver Brooklyn IV, which takes place on August 18, the night before WWE’s ‘Biggest Party of the Summer’, Summerslam. This is shaping up to be quite the card.
As well as the previously confirmed match of the hard-hitting Shayna Baszler putting her NXT Women’s Title on the line against the female Jack Sparrow, Kairi Sane, we now have confirmation of the coolest people on the planet, the Undisputed Era (Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong) defending their NXT Tag Team Championships against those jolly bearded fellows called Mustache Mountain (Tyler Bate and Trent Seven).
On top of this, we have an NXT North American Title match between current champion, Undisputed Era member, and my fiancée’s favorite man on the planet Adam Cole, and the challenger Ricochet.
Lastly, we also now know that the most charismatic man to ever live, Velveteen Dream, will be battling against the most jacked man to ever live, EC3, at the same event.
My mouth is watering at the prospect of this card. A potential show-stealer of a match with Mustache Mountain looking to regain the Tag Team Titles after winning and losing the titles in two outstanding matches, and Shayna Baszler looking to continue her dominant reign against a great opponent in Kairi Sane.
Any match with Adam Cole in it is great, and this time he’s facing off against Ricochet, who you know will be bringing his A-game as he always does. AND we get to see Velveteen Dream, who always goes above and beyond expectations at TakeOver shows take on EC3, one of the most popular performers on the yellow brand to date.
I. Can’t. Wait. (Also because of UK times it will technically be my birthday just as this show starts, so that’s nice too. What a great present. Thanks WWE.)
Current Card:
- Shayna Baszler (c) vs Kairi Sane – NXT Women’s Championship
- Adam Cole (c) vs Ricochet – NXT North American Championship
- The Undisputed Era (Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly) (c) vs Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate & Trent Seven) – NXT Tag Team Championships
- Velveteen Dream vs EC3
If this TakeOver card follows the same pattern of previous shows, these five matches may well be the whole card. However with a new start time of 7pm EST (as opposed to the usual 8pm EST), speculation has been rampant that this event may hold a longer duration than normal. If this is the case, we may well see other matches added in the lead up to August 18.
