Paul Heyman Identifies Roman Reigns’ ‘True Challenger’ WWE

Roman Reigns’ wise-man Paul Heyman has identified the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion’s “true challenger” amidst his historic over 1000 day title reign.

Speaking on the The Pat McAfee Show, Heyman was asked who he wishes Reigns could face in the future, to which the Bloodline’s special counsel responded “himself”.

Heyman then elaborated:

“That’s really Roman’s greatest challenge in life is topping himself, The Roman Reigns of tomorrow has to be better than the Roman Reigns of today, and the Roman Reigns two days from now needs to be better than the Roman Reigns tomorrow.

“So the only true ‘challenger’ to Roman Reigns is himself, that he has to be constantly better.

“He can never truly peak because once he peaks, that’s it, we’ve reached the apex, it’s time to go do something else.

“But in challenging himself to be greater tomorrow than he is today …

“Then we are constantly evolving and ‘The Tribal Chief’ gets better and better.'”

Despite long-surpassing any champion in recent memory Heyman believes the Tribal Chief is never comfortable resting on his laurels, revealing that he thinks Reigns will stay on top longer than many expect.

Reigns recently surpassed Pedro Morales to become the fifth longest reigning world champion in company history.

After Morales the next longest reign is Bruno Sammartino’s second run with the WWWF Title which stands at 1237 days.

While Reigns wasn’t on this week’s Smackdown, Paul Heyman recently responded to The Uso’s message for the champion ahead of their ‘Bloodline Civil War’ at the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event.
